Save the date! Thursday, January 19th from 7-9 PM Kay Gardiner, one of the authors of the immensely popular Mason-Dixon Knitting Books, will be here to teach one of her most popular patterns, the Mitred Crosses Blanket. We're looking forward to a lively evening of stories and knitting! Kay is not charging for the classes and instead asks that each participant purchases a copy of one of her books which we have available in the store and downloads the pattern from Ravelry before that evening. If you click on the photo of the blanket it will take you right to the Ravelry sight and you can download the pattern there.
If you remember from a previous posting ALL proceeds from the pattern sales are going to Japanese Tsunami Recovery. She has so far donated $18,000!
Kay will be teaching the construction of the Mitered Cross during the program and we have lots of Silk Garden here to choose from. The evening will be limited by space availability so please call the store to register soon.
January Yarn SALE! We have a big assortment of winter yarns on sale including quite a collection of Noro Chunky Yarns. Not all yarns pictured are on Sale but there are lots of Noro yarns and lots of other Winter novelty yarns to choose from all at 25% off!
Mary in the Tuesday group made this cowl for her daughter and brought it in for all of us to see. It was one of those funny things where it was perfectly lovely laying on the counter and a complete knockout when it was on someone! It's a free Ravelry download and took three skeins of everyone's favorite Misti Chunky. She used a solid but it would be just as beautiful in one of the handpaint colors.
Well it's certainly cold enough for some serious knitting! By next weeks email I'll have the class list ready to go--there- I've left myself no wiggle room and now MUST get it done!
